After being in a nearly fatal car accident that threatened her mobility at ten years old, Monica Fernandes got a second chance at life and decided she would put her story into dance. With no money for studio classes, she began learning moves from videos of artists like Missy Elliott and her passion for dance becamean unstoppable force. She performed with her high school’s dance crew and has done motivational speeches to spread her message to aspiring artists in herteenage years. After high school, it didn’t take long to find a place in Bucc’n’Flvr where she felt a strong sense of belonging, family and friendship. They have since competed at Canadian Nationals, won Much Music’s Best Dance Crew and performed in the Dominican Republic. Along the way she also found her love forK.R.U.M.P and is now one of the best female krumpers in Canada. She has gone on to do main event battles in Texas and New York and consistently battles in Toronto. Monica is continuing to grow as a dancer by performing, battling and teaching the knowledge she has gained and hopes to ultimately spread love,spread light and have fun while on her journey.
